Central California › Tuolumne River
The Tuolumne River boasts classic California whitewater runs. The Main Tuolumne and Cherry Forks are located approximately 30 minutes west of Yosemite National Park. The Main Tuolumne flows 18 miles from Meral's Pool to Ward's Ferry. Cherry Creek has an overall gradient of 110 feet/mile, and is considered an "expert's only" run. It is possibly the most challenging whitewater run.
Difficulty/Season:
The Cherry Creek is rated as Class V+, with a "Miracle Mile" of over 200 feet/mile drops. The Main Tuolumne is considered an advanced class IV-V river.
