To create a Site Map, you need to define which file is your home page first. (see the following).
1. Open the Site Window,
2. Select the "Site Map Layout" from the Category.
For the home page, navigate to my_CompassHome.html
Then press OK.
When you completed the exercise. Add your name next to the Compass LOGO and do any modification you like. (If you have time, you can convert this site to your personal Website.)
Then SAVE your web page. The next step is to publish this website to the Web Server.
Before we publish our website to the Web server, you need to rename your "my_CompassHome.html" to "index.htm" which is the default HTML in a Web folder (That means the Web will display "index.htm" if the user doesn't specify the HTML file name).
Rename your "my_CompassHome.html" to "index.htm" in the Site window. (Different Web server may have different setting for the default HTML file names.)
Open the Site Definition Window, Select "Remote Info" and type the following (but replace your own folder number 581-## and password. (same as the previous lab). Then press OK.
Now, you can also upload individual files to the Web server. To do so, highlight the whole folder (Z:g581-##\lab-07\Tutorial\Compass_Site) first. Then click on the "UP" arrow on the tool bar.
It will take a few minutes to finish the upload. (After the upload, if you change some pages, you can also only upload a specific page to the Web Server.
Now you can check your new Web page designed by using Dreamweaver.

After you finished this lab, please print out the new home page you create (Laser printer) and hand-it to the instructor.
