Torrey Pines

General Information:

Located between La Jolla and Del Mar, California, north of San Diego right off the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Torrey Pine State Reserve is a day-use park, and there are no overnight camping facilities. Picnics are permitted on the beach only, and no food or drinks (with the exception of water) are permitted in the Reserve. In the park, there is no place to buy food or drinks. Torrey Pines State Reserve is open daily from 8:00 am to sunset, and the visitor center opens daily at 9:00am.

Fees:

Parking Fees are listed below and are paid at the Visitor Center

General: $6 weekdays, $8 weekends/holidays
Senior: $5 weekdays, $7 weekends/holidays
Disabled: $3 weekdays, $4 weekends/holidays

Interesting Facts:

Torrey Pines State Reserve is home to the rarest pine tree in the United States, the Pinus torreyana.

Date Ideas:

Plan a romantic hike through Torrey Pines many trails through the reserve.

Guy Fleming Trail:

The trail is a 2/3 mile loop which is the easiest trail, flat forest trail.

Grand scenery including ocean vistas, and various rock formations.

In the winter, you may see Gray Whales on their annual migration.

Broken Hill Trail :

For the more experienced hikers this trail is the longest in Torrey Pines.

This trail is 1.3 mile loop with scenic overlooks of the ocean and chaparral.

Torrey Pines State Reserve also has plenty of beautiful beaches in which you could take your special someone for a picnic.
