Centennial Park General Information: Located on Coronado Island at First Street at the foot of Orange Avenue. In the park are grassy knolls, gazebo seating, and the original ferryboat ticket booth for San Diego Bay. The best part of this park and the reason for being on our website are the park's sweeping bay views. Reservations can be made for special occasions such as birthday parties, company picnics and wedding ceremonies.
Fees: Centennial Park is free to the public. Costs for a special event permit in Coronado include a $50 refundable cleaning deposit and any insurance costs if being provided by the City. Interesting Facts: Coronado is home to the famous Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888 and long considered one of the world's top resorts. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark and appeared in films such as Some Like It Hot and The Stunt Man. Coronado is the third most expensive place to live in San Diego County and one of the most expensive in the country. Many presidents have also visited the historic hotel, such as Taft, Roosevelt (FDR), Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton and First Lady Laura Bush.
Date Ideas: Plan a romantic picnic at the park and take in the beautiful views of the bay. Great place to propose to someone special. The small beach to the left of the park is great for taking in the amazing night skyline and sneaking illicit smooches. More Information: http://www.coronado.ca.us/ContentPage.asp?ContentID=123
