Coordinator:  Jan  McClure

Jan McClure is a graduate student in Epidemiology. Her interest is in  the use GIS and Internet Mapping to better understand disease.

Information about a disease is placed on a map that also has information about the environment. It becomes clear if the disease occurs more often in certain places. By looking at places where a disease occurs more often, the environmental factors in that place can be studied to see if they are involved with the disease.

Hi, my name is Deborah Waggoner. I am majoring in Geography with a French minor.

I will be graduating with my bachelor's degree on May 15, 2004. By 2005, my plan is to be back at SDSU working towards a master's degree in Geographic Information Science. I have loved maps since I was a child. With GIS, I can make maps in new and creative ways. I want to thank my professor, Ming Tsou for introducing me to the world of GIS!
