NASA Project Team
Three types of partnerships were established that aided in the project achieving success. The NASA project team consisted of a partnership of SDSU-Geography researchers and Ed Almanza, an environmental consultant with an established record and contacts with the habitat management community.
Team of Experts

A second type of partnership was the Team of Experts (described previously) that was organized and primarily coordinated by Almanza. Participants in the Team of Experts included personnel from the following organizations:

California Department of Fish and Game
City of San Diego, Environmental Planning Department
Conservation Biology Institute
County of San Diego, Land Use and Environmental Planning Department
Endangered Species League
San Diego Association of Governments
The Nature Conservancy, Orange County Office
US Fish and Wildlife Service
US Geological Survey, Biological Resources Division

The Team of Experts provided research guidance and feedback on both habitat management and geo-spatial technical matters.

Primary Users

The third type of partnership was with potential and actual users, many of who were associated with some of the organizations that participated in the Team of Experts. The primary user partners included:

City of San Diego biologists and environmental planners
County of San Diego Department of Planning and Land Use GIS technicians
Mission Trails Regional Park rangers
Orange County Nature Conservancy land managers
