After you find the Scripps Pier you have to walk north about two hundred yards where you will find the Dike Rock area. While passing you will notice the Torrey Pine Bluff area to your right. They tower over you and you can see the Scripps Institute of Oceanography campus in that particular area. After walking along the beach you arrive at the location where larger cobble size rocks have created the tide pool area. Make sure to bring your hiking shoes or sturdy sandals for this location, for the sand turns into bulky rocks that are hard to walk on with bare feet. This is a very popular site, located on the edge of the Scripps School of Oceanography. To get to Dike Rock you must first find the Scripps Pier. Click here - for Google Earth directions.
