Camping

Due to the wildfires all public campgrounds are closed until trails and campsites are cleared and soil erosion control methods are in place.  Campgrounds will reopen on Saturday May 1,2004.

Campgrounds

There are two excellent campgrounds located in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.  Paso Picacho campground offers 85 individual campsites and is located across the street from the base of the trail to Stonewall Peak.  Green Valley campground offers 81 individual campsites and is located in hiking distance from beautiful Green Valley Falls using the Green Valley Campground Loop Trail.

Campsites at both campgrounds have picnic tables and fire rings.  Tap water is available at nearby restrooms, which also offer hot pay showers.  All campsites can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet long; however, no hookups are available at either campground.  Campsites are $15 per night during peak season (May - September) and $12 per night during off-peak season.  One motorized vehicle and trailer is included in the nightly fee.  Extra vehicles will be charged $4 per night and must be parked in the Day Use parking lot if there is not enough room to fit on the campsite driveway.  Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available at both campgrounds.

Group Campsites are available at Paso Picacho.  There are two group campsites, A and B, that will accommodate up to 60 people each.  Both have tap water, barbecues, and restrooms with hot pay showers.  Up to 20 vehicles are allowed per site.  Trailers and RVs are counted as two vehicles due to limited parking.

For reservations call 800-444-7275.  Individual campsite can be reserved up to seven months in advance.  Group campsites can be reserved up to 180 days in advance.
