Mission Trails Regional Park, a treasure of San Diego, covers close to 5,800 acres of diverse terrain including mountains, canyons, and lakes. The park offers hiking, biking, and horse trails, along with boating and a visitors center. A public facility, the park is open year round to all visitors. The Visitor and Interpretive Center is open everyday except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day and is free to the public.
Getting there
From Interstate 8 - Take I-8 to the
Mission Gorge/Fairmount exit. Turn North onto Mission Gorge Road and
proceed for approximately four miles. Turn left onto Father Junipero Serra
Trail.
From Route 52 - Take 52 East to the Mast Boulevard exit in Santee. Turn
left on Mast Boulevard and go under freeway to first traffic light. Turn
right on West Hills Parkway. Take until Mission Gorge Road and turn right.
Continue approximately 2.5 miles down Mission Gorge Road to Father
Junipero Serra Trail.

offers urban visitors an escape with hiking, and biking trails just minutes
away from the hustle and bustle. Established in 1974, MTRP is one of the
world's largest urban parks.
Visitor Center
Begin your visit at the Park's new Visitor and Interpretive Center. Interactive exhibits about the flora, fauna, and geology found at Mission Trails Park enhance your visit to the park. The Center also houses a library and theater for educational slides and video presentations. Visit the gift shop for Native American crafts and environmentally oriented educational toys.
