General Instructions
These viewers provide spatial data about MTRP. Each of the themes in the viewers came from SANDAG and the NASA ARC project at San Diego State University. Metadata about these layers can be found on their webpage.
Click on the links to access the viewers. Add themes by selecting them in the table of contents and refreshing the viewer (HTML viewer) or by checking the boxes (Java viewer). Selected or checked themes are visible. Themes must be visible and active to enable spatial query and analysis. To remove a layer from the view uncheck the box or unselect the layer and refresh viewer.
Tips
Do not view all layers at once. Too many layers added to a view can clutter a map. Spatial information is best conveyed on a clear, focused map. Start with a few layers and add themes as necessary.
Assess the purpose of your mapping project to use the most meaningful themes in your analysis and display. To improve analysis, turn layers on or off noting the changes to viewer for ultimate project goals.
Java viewer allows the user to manipulate the layers, colors, and themes. This is most useful for in depth analysis of multiple polygon layers, as the default colors may not be adequate for all mapping objectives.
Soils theme is only available for query analysis.
